Forging the path to net-zero
Sustainability managers increasingly understand that a net-zero goal or pledge means removing some of their organisation’s CO2 from the air. However, it is not at all clear how much CO2 needs to be or indeed can be removed, at what cost and by what methodology. How will the carbon regulation or the markets evolve until the goal needs to be met?
“The risk from inaction by far outweighs the uncertainty of action”
Critically a large part of the risk and uncertainty can be minimised, or at least quantified, by following the science: A credible net-zero strategy is rooted in the science, acknowledges the realities of the technological possibilities and is re-adjusted when new facts are established.
In our experience the best way to learn is by doing - only then do you see the magnitude of the known challenges and uncover the unknown hurdles to net-zero. The time to act is now, so we have to stay agile whilst keeping the north star of your sustainability strategy in sight.
But we also believe in learning from the mistakes of those that have gone before - and so we are sharing our learnings here in the knowledge hub.
We’ve tried to map out this journey in our user guide.
